Disclaimer
Short version: we make tools, not tax advice. Our calculators and spreadsheets help you plan and keep records — for decisions about your own tax, check GOV.UK or speak to a qualified accountant.
We are not tax advisers
TaxReadySheets is not an accountancy firm. We are not accountants, tax advisers or financial advisers, and we are not regulated to give tax, legal, accounting or financial advice. Nothing on this website, in our guides, in our email reminders or in our spreadsheets is a personal recommendation or advice about your situation.
Using our calculators, reading our guides or buying our spreadsheets does not create an accountant–client or adviser–client relationship between you and us.
Calculators give estimates
Our free calculators apply published UK rates and thresholds for the tax year shown on each page (currently 2026/27) to the figures you type in. The results are estimates to help you plan. They cannot take account of every allowance, relief, exception or detail of your circumstances, so your real tax bill may be different.
We check our figures against GOV.UK and update them when the rules change, but we cannot promise that everything is complete, current or free from errors. Tax rules can change after a Budget, and there may be a short delay before a calculator is updated.
Spreadsheets are record-keeping tools
The spreadsheets we sell are templates to help you organise your income, expenses and records and to see estimated totals. They do not file anything with HMRC, they are not Making Tax Digital software, and they do not replace advice from a professional. You are responsible for what you enter, for checking the results, and for your own tax returns and payments.
GOV.UK and HMRC come first
GOV.UK and HMRC are the official sources for UK tax rules. If anything on this site, in a guide or in a spreadsheet disagrees with official HMRC guidance or with a letter HMRC has sent you, HMRC's position applies.
When to get professional help
If your situation is anything other than straightforward — for example several sources of income, property, a limited company, losses, overseas income, VAT, or a large or unexpected tax bill — please speak to a qualified accountant or tax adviser. Members of professional bodies such as the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT), the ICAEW or ACCA are a good place to start.
Using this site
You use this website and our tools at your own risk. To the extent the law allows, we accept no liability for any loss arising from relying on calculator results, guides or spreadsheets instead of getting advice for your own circumstances. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
