About TaxReadySheets
TaxReadySheets exists to make self-employed tax in the UK feel less like guesswork.
Most people who work for themselves are not short of effort — they are short of time and clear numbers. They want to know roughly what they owe, what to charge and when things are due, without wading through pages of guidance first. So we build small, focused calculators that answer one question each, in plain English.
What we make
- Free calculators on this site, covering tax and take-home pay, CIS refunds, property and hosting income, mileage, pricing for service trades, Universal Credit reporting dates and Making Tax Digital.
- Ready-made spreadsheets, sold through our Etsy shop (opens in a new tab), for keeping records through the year. Sales of those are what keep the calculators free.
How we keep figures right
Every rate, band and threshold the site uses lives in a single file that is checked against GOV.UK for each tax year. The current figures are for 2026/27 (6 April 2026 to 5 April 2027). When a Budget or announcement changes something, that one file is updated and every calculator follows.
What we don't do
- We don't give personal tax advice. Our results are estimates to help you plan.
- We don't collect what you type. The calculations run in your own browser.
- We don't use cookies, trackers or adverts. See our privacy page.
If your situation is unusual — several businesses, large losses, overseas income, partnerships or capital gains — check GOV.UK or talk to a qualified accountant.
